With the most spectacular views on Ocracoke Island, Skynear offers a sweeping completely private panorama of the natural salt marsh and the Pamlico Sound, along with the sparkling waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Our beautiful home is filled with sunlight and located on the corner edge of Jackson Dunes.

If you've never been to Ocracoke Island you've really missed out! The Island is accessible only by car ferry or private plane. There are 13 miles of pristine undeveloped beaches, a quaint historic fishing village, and a vibrant artistic community. The Island is the perfect place for a getaway and Skynear is our family's "Island Retreat." Kick off your shoes and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere - get on a bike and tour the Island, spend the day at the beach or walk to one of the many beautiful shops, incredible restaurants, the lighthouse, or Silver Lake Harbor in the Village.

The cottage features three bedrooms - two on the first floor with Queen beds, along with a glorious private Master Suite with a Queen bed on the third floor with breathtaking views from a private sundeck. There is also a queen-sized sofa bed on the first floor. There are 3 baths; 2 with showers, and the third floor Master bath with shower. Our first floor bath has been completely remodeled in 2010 to include a large walk-in tiled shower.

The first floor is the perfect retreat for the kids or extended family and it's recently been beautifully re-designed and refurnished. It features an incredible media room for the kids with widescreen television and DVD player, and the adjacent wet bar is complete with a beverage refrigerator, microwave and sink - perfect for preparing late night snacks.

Skynear also has a beautiful second floor living area, and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher and microwave, multiple decks and peaceful screened porches for quiet reading. The house has central air-conditioning and heat, ceiling fans, telephone service, a full sized washer and dryer, Direct TV satellite service, high-speed wired/wireless Internet access, and a stereo with CD player. Outside there's a picnic table, a hot and cold outdoor shower and a charcoal grill.

We're sorry but we don't allow pets - visit our friends at Sandy Paws Bed and Biscuit Inn for four legged pet accommodations. We respectfully request that you refrain from smoking in our home and we ask that you have a maximum of 8 guests, including children. Parking is a bit limited so try to bring only two vehicles. We do allow partial week stays with a 3-night minimum, booked within 2 weeks prior to the arrival date. Our good friends at Ocracoke Island Realty will be happy to assist you in reserving a partial week stay - feel free give them a call to make arrangements.
